The Story Behind Justfootball Academy
Fabian Erny and Daniel Widmer from Pratteln, Basel, Switzerland, founded justfootball.tv with a clear mission: to provide high-quality training sessions to coaches of young footballers around the world and support the development of youth players. The idea was inspired by Fabian Erny’s own experiences and challenges in football, recognizing that many amateur clubs lack the resources to provide a full, well-rounded football education. For most young players, football education can feel like a lottery, with only a few lucky enough to have coaches skilled in the social, organisational, and technical aspects of player development. Fabian and Daniel aimed to change that by creating a service that ensures every young footballer has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Unlike traditional training manuals or literature, justfootball videos break language barriers and provide accessible coaching to a global audience. As international interest grew, Justfootball Academy was established in the summer of 2012. Coaches quickly realised that individual development in a team environment was often overlooked, so they introduced private and small-group sessions for ambitious players. The demand was immediate, and the academy’s focus on individual progress ensures that players improve rapidly.
